Lara's work has appeared in The Stranger, CityArts Magazine, Seattle Weekly, Real Change and SELFISH as well as the comics newspapers Bloody Pussy, Intruder, and Thick as Thieves. She is a 2015 4Culture Art Projects Grant recipient and a 2012 SCBWI scholarship recipient.
